What is a Concurrent/Floating licence?
A Concurrent/Floating licence is a licence that can be shared once one user has stopped working. Once the licence is free it can be used by another person. The maintenance of the licences is carried out by the Licence Manager.

What possibilities are there to extend licences?
The number of users working simultaneously can be extended anytime by purchasing further licences. Additional licence packs can be purchased through at our online shop or through a partner. They are available in two sizes:

- 3 Concurrent/Floating Licences (RRP 899 €)
- 5 Concurrent/Floating Licences (RRP 1.259 €)

What are the advantages of the "Hot Folder & Scheduling" function?
You can set up or designate a hot folder location on a local drive, network drive or FTP server to be monitored by FineReader. As soon as new images or PDF files are added to these "hot folders", FineReader will automatically process them in the background using the pre-defined settings. For example all incoming faxes can be converted into searchable PDFs. The ‚Scheduling' function enables you to OCR documents at a designated time, e.g. during the night. This way, large amounts of documents can be processed even when you are not at your PC.

Can I also use the program outside of the network?
You can also use the program without a network, e.g. on the road with a laptop. For this you would have to carry out a workstation installation. As the program is permanently installed on your laptop there is no longer the possibility to use this as a Concurrent/Floating licence and share it with other users.

How is the price calculated for large licence volumes?

How long can I maintain my achieved discount level for?
The achieved discount level can be maintained for a total of 12 months. During this time you can also purchase smaller licence amounts at the original fixed price. This allows you the maximum amount of flexibility when purchasing licences.

We already have a few licences from ABBYY in our company. Will these be taken into consideration?
Yes these will be taken into consideration and a discount will be calculated accordingly.

What is Upgrade Assurance?
Upgrade Assurance enables you to receive the most actual software version, for the agreed number of licences, free of additional charge. As soon as a new version is available all software licences can be updated. The price of Upgrade Assurance depends on the licence price.

Does purchasing Upgrade Assurance have an effect on the price?
Yes. By purchasing Upgrade Assurance, not only does the customer protect his investment and keep his software updated, but he can also reach a higher discount level by collecting additional points.

Is the Upgrade Assurance only valid for a fixed period of time?
No, there are no time restrictions. As soon as a new version is available you are entitled to receive this free of charge. If you purchase Upgrade Assurance then it is irrelevant whether 6, 12 or 24 months have passed.

What is Extended Corporate Support?
In order to keep costs for maintaining and using the software at a minimum, customers can sign a contract for Extended Corporate Support. By purchasing Extended Corporate Support the company receives the following:
- Preferred Support Customer' status
- The system administrator or the customer's help desk department receives free technical support on behalf of actual end-users users (customer's employees, who otherwise would have to register the product individually).
- Direct access to experienced ABBYY technicians
- Quicker response times

The price is compiled according to the amount of purchased licences. The points score of "Extended Corporate Support " helps here to achieve a higher discount level.

Does purchasing Extended Corporate Support have any influence on the price?
Yes, the price is calculated according to the number of purchased licences. At the same time, Extended Corporate Support is worth a fixed allocated number of points which means you achieve an advantageous discount level.

Is it possible to automatically distribute FineReader 9.0 Site Licence Edition?
Yes, an automatic software roll-out is possible. ABBYY FineReader 9.0 is installed in two steps:

I. Initialisation of ABBYY FineReader 9.0 on a network drive.

II. Installation of ABBYY FineReader 9.0 on LAN Workstations using one of the following five methods:
1. Manual interactive mode
2. Command line
3. Active Directory
4. Microsoft System Management Server (SMS)
5. Task Scheduler
