  • Automated OCR processing - document conversion takes place in unattended mode on a server, following “workflow” parameters which are predefined by the administrator. Processing can be scheduled for immediate processing or certain times.

  • High-volume processing and scalability – supports any volume of documents as it is not limited by the constraints of a desktop workstation. Increase throughput to support large amounts of documents by simply adding additional computers and CPUs. It is easy to integrate additional processing stations into the system.

  • Centralised installation, management and support - no desktop/client installation is required because all processing runs on a server. A Remote Administration console serves as a central point for defining processing parameters, monitoring jobs, and managing recognition stations.

  • Parallel processing - Recognition Server can process multiple documents or groups of documents with different processing parameters simultaneously. Administrators can manage the document processing order by assigning priorities and scheduling processing times.

  • Broad Accessibility and Flexible Document Input – any number of users can easily access Recognition Server from any number of scanning devices, MFPs or network folders. Recognition Server processes documents automatically from many different sources by watching Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, network and FTP folders. The system in not limited to the local network area (LAN), but can also be used remotely via e-mail.

  • Fault tolerance - Recognition Server ensures ongoing system stability and data safety.

  • International and flexible – provides recognition of more than 190 recognition languages, multi-lingual documents, and 1D and 2D barcodes. Also offers document separation functions through use of barcodes or empty pages.

  • Multiple output formats - scanned documents, image files and PDFs can be converted to a variety of formats, such as plain text, Word, Excel, HTML, PDF (including searchable PDF formats), PDF/A, MCR compressed PDFs and more.

  • Unsurpassed recognition quality and layout retention - paper documents are converted into searchable PDFs and editable files with the high levels of accuracy for which ABBYY is known. Elements like rows, columns, graphics and images are automatically recognised and retained.

  • Efficient Verification — Recognition Server 2.0 includes client-side Verification Station designed for proofreading and correcting recognized texts. The program can be configured to apply verification to all recognized pages, to selected document types, or to pages with questionable quality only.
